Take a guided tour around our 20 acre organic vineyard, we'll discuss all things vine, then into the winery to discuss the wine making process and then we taste our range of wines, 2 reds, 2 whites, a rose and from time to time a sweet white.
Chateau La Tour de Chollet is a family run, organic vineyard located in the rolling countryside near the ancient bastide town of Sainte Foy La Grande in the Bordeaux wine region.
We are an English family who moved to France in 2006 to live our dream of owning a vineyard and making wine.
We are passionate about making excellent wines of the terroir, to achieve this we farm organically, and work by hand as much as possible, avoiding chemical short cuts like weedkiller.
The vineyard is planted with the traditional Bordeaux varieties of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc for the red wines, and semillon, sauvignon blanc and muscadelle for the white.
We believe that good wines can only be made from good grapes which is why we choose to farm organically.
We make 5 wines, 2 reds, a dry white, a sweet white and a rose. Our wines are AOC Sainte Foy Bordeaux and so must adhere to the high quality standards that they enforce. We also submit our wines every year to 2 international wine competitions, the International Wine Challenge and the Decanter World Wine Awards, we are pleased to say that our wines have been awarded medals every year at each.
Vineyard tours and wine tasting is free if wine is purchased, if no wine is purchased then there is a 5€ fee per person.
